Mom's tribe (3/2021)

Andrea threw me the coolest birthday get together - citing my own efforts to make others feel special via parties! We played pickleball, jumped in the hot tub, and ate treats late into the night. These gals right here (sans Neeley, Katie, Amber, and Heidi = dang spring break birthday) comprise my Omaha tribe - the ones I giggle with; the ones who have earned my deepest, darkest secrets; and who have consistently rescued me in the tough moments!

tap with a side of soccer (4/2021)

So fun to add in soccer to her typical tap dancing regime. Mom loves a good soccer game and sees a little of her past self in the ponytail and knee high socks.

Dalia followed with soccer camp this summer and I was a proud momma as these two walked to the field every day.

a tale of 2 ornaments (11/2021)

There are many meaningful tales on my sentimental Christmas tree but 2 ornaments have special reverence. They are rudimentary treasures handmade by tiny kindergartners in separate spaces. All others can be placed wherever they choose but, every year, the face from 1984 is meticulously placed next to the face from 1986. The kids know it, roll their eyes at it, but play along every single time.

penned for my 15 yr old (3/2021)

"15 years ago, you were kinda an anxious little baby. I remember being a little worried about you. But now that I've seen you grow and develop, I'm realizing that you were just a very observant, intuitive, and witty little soul waiting to do many good things. Birthday girl, I love you much, much more than you will ever know."

Big birthday milestones included: getting her driver's permit, acrylic tips, and completing Invisalign.
