a few and far between
dave is not one to flatter and his compliments come few and far between. the drones of his wife ('a girl needs to hear she's pretty more') are often met with additional subconscious resistance and the viscious cycle of few and far between continues... but every time those few and far betweens come, they are absolutely sensational!
