stover girl's self-imposed homework was to learn to tie her shoes (just like a boy in her class can). she is so excited to surprise her coach with one less student needing help with those darn laces!
Good for her! I recently asked J if she wanted a pair of tennis shoes like that, to which she replied, "no, I don't like shoes with those string things." Maybe the first step to shoe-tying is telling her that they're called "laces"...

Her teacher is going to cry happy tears with that announcement :) tying shoes is no fun... tying 25 pairs of shoes six times a day is AWFUL!
