floors by Oscar (12/2019)

Oscar the Grouch came to refinish our floors. His given name is Ryan but Oscar was more fitting. (He actually wore a Grinch t-shirt and suspenders while working...)  Things started sour when Dave unknowingly asked the same question that I'd asked a few hours earlier. Oscar snarled, "Now I have to tell you too?" There were some days that he merely grunted a yes or no. We endured heavy eye rolls and disapproving head shakes as we carefully shuffled past him. Dave and I practically drew lots every day to decide who had to communicate with him. After a longer than anticipated and much messier than planned process, they were done. Oscar's work was amazing despite a socially grueling process. (And it only took us another year to install carpets! We can blame COVID but I'd say we were mildly post-traumatic as well.) 

A DSM diagnosis was worth it...
